Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti] Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic occasion. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach later in life she discovered her when she was six. The year 1969 was the first time she competed in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. In 1972, in an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes before the Olympics she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she won the overall junior champion. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven bars parallel to each other. In her teens she started appearing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. In her early years, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice performed by actors.
